Special Events
Cary Area EMS handles over 75 special events every year. Our Special Events program is designed to handle responses at large events such as Cary’s Lazy Days Festival, Jimmy V Golf Tournament and Fourth of July festivities, various triathlons and marathons, and high school football games to name just a few. We will also help to coordinate educational sessions for community groups or classrooms with personnel to come out and provide training, answer questions, and demonstrate the use of equipment. Depending on the event there may be an hourly charge for personnel and vehicles. For an ALS (Advanced Life Support) Ambulance the charge is $105 per hour. There are some events that we can provide one person on a quick response vehicle and this charge is $90 per hour. Cary Area EMS also has the first fully equipped ALS bike teams in the county available as well. The availability of personnel and the details of the event will determine if there is a charge. If you have an event coming up and would like dedicated medical coverage please use the Special Events form to submit your information online. Our Special Events Coordinator will be in touch with you either via email or phone to confirm your request and discuss logistics. If it is less than 5 calendar days from the day/time of your event please do not submit your request online. It is very unlikely we will even be able to assist with coverage given the amount of time it takes to coordinate staffing and equipment. For event requests less than five days away please email our Special Events Coordinator (see our Contact Us page for details). |
